Newman College COVID-Friendly Art & Textiles Workshop

In November, Penwortham Girls’ Arts Team and Newman College collaborated to deliver a Zoom meeting with a difference.  Normally, a small group of students would visit Newman College, however this year in light of COVID-19, we were able to broadcast live to the Textiles room at Cardinal Newman’s Art department.

Ms Harper, Lead Teacher of Art and Textiles, talked pupils through the process of heat transfer printing.  Using a variety of collage and colour techniques, students were able to generate a series of colourful designs inspired by the work of John Whalley.
