Spiritual

Penwortham Girls’ High School are passionate about giving our students opportunities to experience the ‘awe and wonder’ of life which encourages them to develop spiritually.  Spiritual development is the development of the non-material aspects of life, focusing on personal insight, values, meanings and purpose. Giving students these opportunities is more important than ever as it gives them the appetite and enthusiasm for living life to the fullest in the unprecedented times of 21st century life. It builds their courage and ability to persevere, overcoming any inner resistance and vacillation when approaching obstacles.

It is important that students can differentiate between the ‘religious’ and the ‘spiritual’. Each year we aim to run a unique Spirited Arts competition for each year group in KS3 as spirituality and arts go hand in hand together. We believe it is important for every student to make an entry which reflects the time and effort they have spent pondering the meaning of the topic.
