Penwortham Girls’ High School Celebrates GCSE Success and a Bright Future
Penwortham Girls’ High School is celebrating another year of strong GCSE results, with students, staff, and families coming together to recognise outstanding academic achievement.
Head Teacher Mrs Hall praised the students’ hard work and determination, saying:
“We are extremely proud of our students. Their resilience and ambition have enabled them to achieve so much.”
Despite the challenges of recent years, students achieved impressive results across a wide range of subjects. Seventy-three percent of pupils secured a grade 4 or higher in both English and Maths, while over a third of all grades were at grade 7 or above. Impressively,8% of all grades were awarded at grade 9, the highest possible level.
Among the top performers was Eden F, who achieved a grade 9 in every subject. She shared some motivational advice:
“No matter how much you think you can’t do something, just know you can and anything is possible!”
Several other students also exceeded all of their target grades, including Nur A, Eleanor A, Safa A, Faye G, and Niamh L.
Co-chairs of the governing board, Lorimer Russell-Hayes and Jackie Lord, expressed their congratulations and gratitude:
“These results never happen by accident! They are the result of continued hard work and positive relationships between home and school.”
This year has been particularly significant for Penwortham Girls’, as the school celebrates its 70th anniversary and embarks on an exciting new phase with the construction of a state-of-the-art school building, scheduled for completion in spring 2027.
As the school looks to the future, these impressive results highlight its continued commitment to helping every student achieve their full potential—academically, personally, and beyond the classroom.
