Rachel Fernández-Arias

After leaving Penwortham Girls’ High School, both Rachel and Abi went on to study Drama at the University of Manchester, where they founded their emerging arts company, Faro Productions. Faro specialises in Theatre, Film, Design and Photography, and has to date produced five theatrical projects and one short film. Faro’s work is always very ambitious, and has included two Shakespeare adaptations, due to the love of Shakespeare that began in the English department at Penwortham Girls’ High School. Rachel and Abi also run drama workshops in schools, and have already been back to PGHS twice to run workshops with the students at the school. “PGHS gave us the confidence and self-belief to pursue the careers we really wanted. As young women, our years at high school taught us that we can achieve anything we set our minds to, and we have carried this with us ever since.”
