Penwortham Girls’ High School is entering an exciting new chapter as construction of our brand-new school building gathers pace. The project, part of the Department for Education’s national School Rebuilding Programme, will replace our current school, which was built in 1954 with a sustainable, purpose-built environment designed for modern learning.
The three-storey, L-shaped building will feature a state-of-the-art sports hall, activity studios, dining and assembly halls, bright classrooms, and a welcoming new reception area. It will also include a modern library, new staff spaces, and innovative energy systems designed to make the building carbon neutral. Outdoor sports facilities and open green spaces will be retained and enhanced, creating a vibrant, environmentally responsible new school.
Completion is expected by the end of 2026.
