Year 11 – Applying to Colleges/Apprenticeships

To help your daughter through the process we’ve arranged for the main feeder colleges to come in and run lunchtime drop in sessions during the week beginning 2nd December.  A single application only takes a maximum of 30 minutes and we would encourage your daughter to make at least two applications.  The process can be sped up further if your daughter has prepared a personal statement in a Word document that can simply be copied and pasted in.  Applications can of course be completed at home and I would encourage you to proof-read your daughter’s applications before she submits them.

Our Careers Advisor Mrs Khan is available to meet your daughter if she is planning on applying for an apprenticeship as this is a slightly more complex process (the deadlines for these will vary) so please get in touch with her via: careers@penworthamgirls.lancs.sch.uk should you wish to arrange an appointment.

Interviews for college places start in the new year.  Runshaw College carry out their interviews in school (date below) whereas the other colleges arrange interviews on an individual basis, at the colleges.  Your daughter will receive information about interviews directly from the colleges in this case.
