We are pleased to inform you that Career North Ltd are the provider of Independent Careers Advice and Guidance at Penwortham Girls High School.

Career North are a local Careers Company who have been providing high quality CEIAG in the North West for over 12 years.

Your daughter will receive valuable, impartial, careers advice and guidance which will support her to make well informed decisions about her future.

Career North’s Advisers are highly experienced and professionally qualified in Careers Guidance. All students will be offered the opportunity to have a one to one Career Conversation and will receive a detailed action plan to support them with their career planning, which you shall receive a copy of with their agreement.

Career North welcome the opportunity to meet with parents/carers and will be attending Parents Events throughout the year, additionally appointments can be arranged to see the Careers Adviser in school through the Headteachers PA or by emailing careernorth@penworthamgirls.lancs.sch.uk

Sofia Mehboob, Careers Adviser, Career North

Sofia holds a BA Honours Children, Schools and Families Degree, a Teaching Assistant Level 3 qualification, Introduction to counselling certificate and is currently undertaking the Level 6 Diploma as a Career Guidance Professional. Her varied qualifications combined with her natural skill set and previous work experience ensures she is well placed to provide the highest quality careers advice and guidance to students from year 7 to year 13 in secondary schools. 

Sofia has many transferable skills and with a key strength in effective communication with people of all ages. She is a fun, friendly and resilient Careers Adviser who demonstrates strong listening skills which supports her to understand the guidance needs of students. Her strong passion to work with young people is clearly evident day to day through her enthusiasm and her understanding of how to engage effectively and be relatable to school age students.

Natasha Pim – Careers Adviser, Career North Ltd

Natasha is a skilled and conscientious Careers Adviser who is undertaking the Level 6 Diploma as a Career Guidance Professional and has amassed a wide range of experience working across 3 Career North schools. Her commitment to supporting young people has been influenced by her own experience of the education system and she is keen to empower students to make well informed, realistic decisions.

Natasha takes every opportunity to embrace new opportunities and training to develop her knowledge and skills and consistently receives excellent feedback for her successes and outcomes with students.

Natasha’s warm and friendly personality ensures she quickly establishes a rapport with students and staff in schools which supports her in her role.

Kyomi Owens – Careers Adviser, Career North

Kyomi holds a BSc (Hons) Applied Psychology (Counselling and Health) degree, post graduate certificate in Social Work and is currently undertaking the Level 6 Diploma as a Career Guidance Professional.

Her qualifications combined with her natural skill set and previous work experience effectively equips her to provide the highest quality information, advice and guidance to students at every step of their school journey. From choosing year 9 ‘GCSE options’ to applying for further education , apprenticeship and university places, Kyomi supports and encourages students  both pastorally and academically. Kyomi is approachable, passionate and committed to making sure that students are given the guidance and advice they need to make informed decisions about their future.

As a conscientious member of the team she is committed to ongoing professional development and will apply all her learning in the best interests of the students she works with.
