Medical Marvels

On Wednesday 23rd March, an epic squad of Year 10 scientists attended Runshaw College’s ‘Medical Marvels’! Throughout the morning we put our biology and concentration skills to the test in matching activities and measuring blood pressure. We also had the opportunity to learn how to suture (which apparently isn’t the same as stitching, like I thought) using skin pads and oranges! During our lunch break, we worked together to fill in a tie-breaker quiz and in the afternoon, we had an anatomical drawing contest. It was only meant to be an anatomical drawing of a chest but due to the high tension and competitive edge, it turned into the entire body! Our efforts in the race didn’t go unnoticed as we were placed 2nd and 3rd. Before heading home, we ended on a high note as we were treated to some of Runshaw’s signature cookies! All in all, it was an excellent day out!

P.S. Hi mum, I made it!!
