English Schools Football Cup

On Friday 27th September, Mrs Tompson and Mrs Finnigen took our U13 (a mixture of Y7 and Y8 students) to Clitheroe Royal Grammar School to play in the first round of the English Schools Football Cup. We expected a competitive match and the PGHS students were up for the challenge! We were 1-0 up by half time and Clitheroe equalised shortly afterwards. After a brilliant display of teamwork, hard work and some excellent football, PGHS left with a 4-1 victory. We are so proud of this team and how they conducted themselves on the pitch. Congratulations to Seren who scored 3 goals and Martha who scored 1 but it was a whole team effort. We can’t wait for round 2 and I’m sure the school will join us in wishing them luck.
