We are incredibly proud to share some exciting news about a group of our talented Year 9 students who made it through to the final round of the Edge Hill University Maths Challenge; a remarkable achievement considering that only 12 teams out of 142 made it this far!
The challenge, designed to stretch mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills, required the girls to tackle a complex problem in Round 2. Not only did they solve it with creativity and precision, but they also had to prepare a detailed presentation explaining their approach and solution. The final round took place at Edge Hill University, where the team presented their work to a panel of expert judges.
As part of the day, the students also enjoyed a guided campus tour, giving them a taste of university life, and had the chance to explore cutting-edge technology in the Tech Hub, including a hands-on experience with virtual reality headsets – a definite highlight!
Their journey to the final is a testament to their hard work, teamwork and enthusiasm for mathematics. We are so proud of their achievement and the way they represented our school with confidence and curiosity.
Please join us in congratulating this fantastic group of young mathematicians – Emily M, Emily T and Philippa M
