GCSE Full Course Religious Studies

Religious Studies is a successful options subject which is increasing in popularity every year. Students who choose to take RE at GCSE will study AQA specification A (full course). This examination is taken at the end of Year 11 and there is no coursework component. Our chosen religions studied are Christianity and Islam. The beliefs & practices of these religions are studied in depth during year 10 and examined on Paper One. During year 11, students will study 4 themes which look at relevant and contemporary life issues and how religion, philosophy and ethics form the basis of our culture. This knowledge will be examined on Paper Two.Each exam is 1hr 45 minutes where students will be expected to complete a range of both multiple choice questions, short answer questions and evaluative essay-based questions.
