Key Stage 3 Curriculum

As a school we follow the Lancashire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education. This stipulates that 50% of teaching time must be dedicated to Christianity and the remaining 50% used to teach about and from, the rest of the major world religions: Buddhism, Hindu Dharma, Islam, Judaism and Sikh Dharam. We also give mention to the most ancient and most modern religious beliefs and practices. The Lancashire Agreed Syllabus also stipulates that, as well as Christianity, two other religions should be progressed. We have chosen Islam and Judaism as our progressed religions. This means that pupils will study these, alongside Christianity, within each year at Key Stage 3.
