Christmas Reading with a 2020 Twist

We have been working really hard with our students to build a culture of reading in PGHS. Apart from the educational benefits, reading provides a much needed escape to another world – and we all need that right now! All of our students in KS3 have been issued with a reading passport and many are already half way round the globe on their virtual world reading tour – I wonder how many will get to Lapland in time to see Father Christmas?

Traditionally, stories are read and shared at Christmas time with friends, family and loved ones and while we might not be able to get together in reality to share those stories, why not organise a Zoom Christmas read? Ask each member of your family to choose their favourite Christmas story and re-tell it to the whole family while you all gather round your own Christmas trees with a hot chocolate and mince pie.
