Exam Results 2015

We continue to be proud of the success achieved by the pupils at Penwortham Girls’ High School.  Once again we have maintained our consistently high academic standards. In 2015, we either met or exceeded our challenging targets, which will no doubt ensure that we maintain our place within the top 25% of all schools nationally for both achievement and progress. This year, 74% of all pupils achieved A*-C with English and Maths.

Our performance in the core subjects is consistently strong, with well over a third of our students exceeding expected progress in Maths and English. We also achieve consistently outstanding results with more able students. This year, 41% achieved at least 3 A*-A grades and 30% 5A*-A. 13.4% of our students achieved at least 8A*-A grades. These results are even more pleasing considering the fact that nationally A*/A grades have fallen again for the fourth year in a row.

As the provisional table below demonstrates, we perform strongly across all academic subjects. Although we are a non selective, community school, we easily exceeded national averages for all subjects at A*-C and also for the vast majority at A*-A. clearly demonstrates why Penwortham Girls’ High School is an outstanding school where every pupil can achieve their full potential.
