Key Stage 2/3 Liaison Activities

Partnership is developed throughout the year to support and enhance activities being undertaken by our primary feeder schools and to develop leadership skills in PGHS pupils through a series of planned and focused activities.

Recent activities have included:

  • ‘Mathematics Challenge’ and follow up sessions
  • ‘European Day of Languages’ with follow up sessions
  • Guild 2012 Literary project
  • ICT ‘Groovy Music’
  • ‘Music Mania’ AGT instrumental workshop and performance
  • Pupil ‘Arts Award Leadership’ workshops for Singing, Dance and Art lessons
  • Participation in all Sport and Dance opportunities
  • Samba staff inset sessions with samba band loan
  • ‘Tech Club’ biscuit project

'Peer Counsellor Training'

PGHS Year 10 pupils delivering peer counsellor training to Year 5.

'Top Tips for Solving Conflict' were agreed:

  • Always speak calmly
  • Never take sides
  • Always say sorry
  • Never focus on people's weaknesses
  • Listen to both sides of the story
  • Don't retaliate
  • Forgive and forget
  • Keep calm
  • Don't use aggressive body language
  • Tell an elder if the issue is serious
