21st Century RE

The RE department is looking forward to welcoming ‘GSUS Live’ to Penwortham Girls’ High School on Wednesday 2nd December. Everyone in Year 9 will take part in this amazing opportunity in their form bubbles.

GSUS Live is a mobile education unit which is a multi-media classroom in a lorry trailer. It tells the story of three teenagers facing real-life issues in their lives, and how they get inspiration from the Bible to deal with their problems. Using touch-screen computers, the Year 9 girls will interact with fictional characters through animations, instant chat, short educational films and music videos. They will be exploring the themes of fear, forgiveness and rejection.

This half term, Year 9 have studied Religion in the 21st Century.  They have explored how religion has changed over time and how it is still relevant and important in the world today. GSUS Live will help us to explore how religion can influence the lives of believers today, as they use it to support them when dealing with real-life issues.
