The History department is delighted to launch the Year 7 Model History Competition for its fourth year. All students are invited to design and create a model inspired by any historical topic that has captured their interest, whether linked to their classroom learning or something they have explored independently. Over previous years, the competition has showcased an impressive range of entries, demonstrating both creativity and strong historical understanding. Past models have included a detailed representation of Elizabeth I, Viking longboats, medieval swords and castles, a First World War trench system, a 1969 NASA rocket launch and even a carefully constructed replica guillotine from the era of the French Revolution.
This competition encourages students to think carefully about historical accuracy as well as presentation, challenging them to bring the past to life through thoughtful design and craftsmanship. It is a fantastic opportunity for students to deepen their engagement with history in a hands-on and imaginative way, while also developing patience, research skills and attention to detail.
The deadline for submissions is Friday 10th July and winning entries will be celebrated with history-themed prizes.
