Springboard Future Chef Success for PGHS

Our school was buzzing with culinary creativity this term as we hosted our own in-house competition for the prestigious Springboard Future Chef competition. Students from across year groups stepped up to the challenge, presenting impressive dishes that showcased their skills, passion and flair for cooking.

After a closely contested event, two talented students were chosen to represent our school in the local heats at Blackpool College, where they competed against entrants from schools across the area.

We are incredibly proud to share that one of our students, Liv triumphed over 16 other competitors, securing first place in the local heat. Her hard work, calm professionalism and inventive dish truly impressed the judges. Liv will now be progressing to the regional finals in St Helens this February, where she will compete for a place in the national stages of the competition.

As part of her prize, she received a fantastic cookbook to continue inspiring her culinary journey. Even more excitingly, a professional chef will be visiting our school regularly to mentor her and help prepare her for the upcoming regional heats.

We wish her the very best of luck as she continues her Future Chef journey and we congratulate all the students who took part for making this year’s competition such a memorable and inspiring event!
