From the 7th-9th June, 39 intrepid Year 10 students embarked on the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Expedition, a journey that tested their resilience, teamwork, and spirit. The three-day adventure was a blend of sunshine and rain, but our students faced the elements with remarkable enthusiasm and positivity.
As the sun beamed down on the first day, students navigated through picturesque trails, demonstrating their orienteering skills and physical endurance. Spirits were high as groups worked together to set up campsites, prepare meals, and share stories under the open sky.
However, the weather took a turn, and rain greeted our adventurers on the third day. Instead of dampening their spirits, the rain became a catalyst for creativity and camaraderie. Students embraced the downpour, donning makeshift war paint from the mud and showing off their warrior spirit. Laughter and cheers echoed through the campsites, proving that a little rain could not hinder their determination.
Throughout the expedition, our Year 10s were impeccably behaved, showcasing respect for each other and the environment. Teachers and instructors were impressed by their maturity, problem-solving skills, and the way they supported one another in true Duke of Edinburgh fashion.
In the end, the expedition was not just about completing a requirement for an award. It was about personal growth, building friendships, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Congratulations to all participants for their outstanding effort and for making this expedition a shining example of what our school community can achieve together.
