In January, our Year 10 Design and Technology students enjoyed a highly informative visit to the Leyland Trucks manufacturing plant. The trip provided an eye-opening insight into the fast-paced environment of a busy, working factory, where students were able to observe every stage of the manufacturing process in action. The experience brought classroom learning to life and will prove invaluable as they prepare for their GCSE examinations next year.
Students also learned about the company’s long history and continued success, exploring how the business has developed and grown over the past century. As a forward-thinking organisation, Leyland Trucks is passionate about inspiring the next generation of engineers, particularly encouraging more girls to consider careers in engineering. During the visit, several of our students were motivated to apply for the company’s work experience programme — a fantastic opportunity sparked by a truly engaging day.
