At the end of January, we were delighted to welcome a large group of volunteers from National Grid, who delivered an exciting series of STEM workshops to all of Year 8.
Throughout the day, students took part in a variety of hands-on activities, including designing and building catapults and towers, generating electricity using lemons, exploring sustainability and trying their hand at coding. The sessions were engaging, interactive and thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity about the world of engineering.
At PGHS, we are committed to encouraging more young women to consider careers in engineering and related fields. This experience provided a valuable insight into what being an engineer involves and we hope it has inspired many of our students to think more confidently and ambitiously about their future pathways.
