Over the last three weeks, our Buddy Groups have come together in true festive spirit to create a wonderful collection of Christmas decorations in support of Galloways Sight Loss Charity in Penwortham. Each group designed and crafted their own decorations, focusing on themes of kindness, inclusivity and community to raise awareness of the fantastic work Galloways does for people living with sight loss.
Once the decorations were complete, our Head Girl and Deputy Head Girls spent Friday afternoon carefully arranging them on our school’s entry for the St. Leonard’s Church Christmas Tree Festival. Their hard work and attention to detail ensured the tree looked beautiful, meaningful and full of festive warmth.
We were delighted to welcome Charlotte from Galloways, who visited to see the finished tree. She expressed how impressed she was by the compassion, thoughtfulness and support demonstrated by our students. It was wonderful to see how much the project meant to both our pupils and the charity.
Throughout the festival, our tree received lots of positive feedback from members of the public, many of whom commented on the creativity of the decorations and the important message behind them. The event not only showcased our students’ artistic talents but also highlighted their commitment to helping others within the community.
We are incredibly proud of everyone involved for spreading Christmas cheer while raising awareness for such a meaningful cause.
Christmas Cards
This term, our Buddy Groups have also been busy channeling their festive spirit and creativity into a special project for Galloways Sight Loss Charity in Penwortham. Each group designed their own Christmas card, with the aim of raising awareness of the charity’s vital work within our community.
The standard of artwork this year was outstanding. From bold, bright Christmas scenes to thoughtful designs symbolising inclusion and support, our students approached the task with real care and imagination. Charlotte from Galloway’s visited to view the entries and was delighted by the creativity, attention to detail and effort shown by all involved.
After much difficulty choosing between so many excellent designs, a selection of winning entries was chosen to be professionally printed as part of Galloways annual Christmas Appeal. These cards are now on sale and helping to raise funds for people living with sight loss.
The printed cards come in a pack of five different designs, priced at £2.99 and are available to purchase from the Galloway’s shop or online at the following link:
We are incredibly proud of our students for using their creativity to support such an important cause. Their artwork is already spreading festive cheer and making a real difference in our local community.
