RE Highlights

Year 11

Students are busy preparing for their mock exams by revising all four of their RE themes. They have been given a detailed revision plan, which is available on Class Charts, to help them organise and focus their independent study. Additional support is also available through intervention sessions running on Wednesday lunchtimes. Keep up the hard work!

Year 10

In RE this term, students have been exploring the miracles of Lourdes by designing their own newspaper articles. They investigated reported healings and events, applying key journalism skills such as research, fact-checking, balanced reporting and engaging headlines. The project encouraged students to think critically about faith, evidence and how stories are communicated to the wider world.  Take a look at some of their wonderful work!

Year 9

As part of their RE unit on crime and punishment, students have been researching religious rule-breakers and the reasons behind their actions. They have been tackling challenging ethical questions such as whether it is ever right to break the law and whether laws are always morally right. This work has encouraged thoughtful discussion, critical thinking and a deeper understanding of how faith and morality can challenge authority.  Students have produced some fabulous fact sheets on their chosen religious rulebreakers including Malala, Jesus, Malcolm X and Nelson Mandela.
